We spent most of our time walking around the city.
We spent most of our time walking around the city. There are lovely buildings with intricate architecture in places. I would definitely recommend a walk in the Stadtpark. I recommend the climb up to Schlossberg, the view is lovely!
We had a wonderful meal at Restaurant Sclossberg, apart from the food , the view is spectacular.
Another place with even better food is Ginko, where I had the best food in a very long time. It serves vegan and vegetarian food, but I would imagine that everybody will like the delicious food on offer.

Graz is nice, probably a day is enough in the off-season but I expect you'd need 2 days when it's summer time and busier because of queues etc. Buy a 24 or 48 hour pass for Museums is worth the expense.

Ideal for you if you like historic towns with lots of landmarks, local food, some interesting shops, museums, a castle hill with a view. Our fave places were the old quarters, the old department store interior, and the view from its top cafe, the cathedral (heard practising for organ concert!!), beautiful bookshop Morawa with cafe on top, Castle hill...
If walking gets too much, use the funicular to get on castle hill and 24h bus/tram ticket to take you anywhere within city. We tasted Austrian food in Franziskaner Quarter (my fave part), vegetarian food in a more modern cafe and finally we ate at a Greek place (good value for money 20 euros per person).
We would avoid visiting in very cold or very hot weather.

We were there to see family mostly and only there for long weekend but have to say got to see fantastic sights of Graz from walking down little side streets to visiting museums and going up to high places to get a good view of the city. The people and nice too and friendly from the staff at our hotel to stopping in cafes and will always try and help if you need directions. It’s also a clean city as didn’t see much rubbish laying around and best of all it has great links to get around Graz both for sightseeing and if you need to get to airports. The transport links are very punctual and come regularly so no need to rush around
Breakfast is served in the am between 7 and 11. Although initially it appears a lot of 'food' is available the selection is somewhat minimal. It was also the first time for me to see rolls and breads served out of cooking pots. Austrian customs? Who knows but I found it strange that you have to lift to cooking lids to see what kind of rolls this pot holds. We also had to ask for fresh water which was not readily available. Coffee was offered but when we wanted an expresso we were promptly reminded it will be an extra cost.
The hotel is very central, located right next to the train station. I was out for most of my 4-day stay so I did not try bike rental (offered by the hotel) or explore any tourist-related perks.
The staff working at the restaurant and managing the breakfast buffet was really lovely. The buffet itself had all the basic continental breakfast pieces, as well as Kaiserschmarrn (an Austrian sweet dish which is a pancake shredded into bits).
The room was not noisy at all and I absolutely loved the beds!
One of the best apartments I came across on Booking. It feels more like the owners would set it for themselves and at the last moment decided to put it for rent.
Everything is well-thought, spacious and well organized. Apartment is located in a quiet part of the city, yet if you wish to visit center of Graz, there is a bus just a small walk from the apartment. Or else if you want to explore other parts of Austria - motorway entrance is also really close.
We very much enjoyed our two-night stay at this attractive, historic and comfortable hotel in the beautiful and interesting city of Graz. The location is excellent, a short tram ride from the main train station and with the scenic part of the city in easy walking distance. We had a spacious room with a view of the river. The hotel personnel were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was truly outstanding
the Glockenspiel restaurant on the ground floor was great. The apartment experience itself was the worst I've had in over 30 years of travel to Austria (I go there for business several times a year). They truly couldn't give a single care about the customer. Also, note that the "Glockenspiel" in the name means that you are in a bell tower and the bell sounds outside the window around the clock. Nice.
Very nice hotel, very well placed, in a quiet area, but close to the city centre and castle hill. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room is big, spacious, well equipped, it has a Nespresso coffee maker, a minibar, everything that you need. The entire hotel is extremely clean. It offers a convenient parking option in the nearby garage.
Excellent and ample parking, nice relatively new hotel with great size rooms also suited for wheelchair access.
Friendly staff. Excellent location if you travel by train (right next to the main station. Comfortable simple and clean rooms with all you need. Good sound proofing job done on the windows.
Great location - 10 mins (max to the Hauptbahnhof, similar time to the Hauptplatz, and there's a lovely Stubl opposite for authentic Austrian food. The hotel is much nicer than expected - really well appointed, smart, modern rooms, super clean and a great breakfast spread.
Easy and fast contactless check-in, large free parking, close to the highway, large room, we got free coffee capsules, there is a good Neapolitan pizzeria in the building, all you need for a quick and seamless night stay while traveling by car through Austria.
Spacious room, vicinity to the city centre, old charm of the hotel and especially kind staff. Lady at reception did not charge us for the parking which was rather generous. We will surely come back next year.
central location, clean rooms, lift access, courteous & English speaking staff, good typical Austrian breakfast, discounted parking is available in very close proximity
The hotel is very modern and nicely decorated. The beds are big and comfortable. The breakfast buffet has a lot of choices.
